Public transport
Six bus routes (376, 377, 395, 396, X77, X96) connect Maroubra Beach to the city. All of them stop at Marine Parade Terminus Station, but 376, 377, 396 run from Circular Quay; 395 runs from Railway Square where is close to Central Station; and X77 and X96 are the EXPRESS bus of 377 and 396 respectively, and only operate Monday to Friday peak hours.

Two bus routes (317, 353) connect Maroubra Beach to Bondi Junction where is a transportation junction with several bus routes and train.

X96 Bent St, City Marine Parade Terminus Maroubra Junction and Kingsford Monday to Friday peak hours The suburbs to the south, such as Chifley and Little Bay, have no direct bus connection to the beach. People living in these areas could go to Maroubra Junction by bus (391, 392, 393,394 and so on depends on where they living)first, and then transfer to 395 or 396 routes. For the people living in western and northern suburbs where also have no direct bus connection to the beach, they can ride train to Central Station first, and then transfer to 395 route. They also can arrive Bondi Junction and transfer to 317 or 353 routes. That is no doubt that this link is benefits both visitors and local people. The accessible public transport is a significant indicator of habitability. In theory, the convenient public transport is conducive to people willing to use it, and continuous increasing usage could promote the development of public transport. An increasing in the number of bus routes via Maroubra Beach could support this statement. In 1978, there are only three bus routes (395, 396 and 399) via Maroubra Beach, but nowadays, the number of bus routes via the beach reach to eight. Thus, a virtuous can be found in the interaction between passenger and public transport
