Describe the ethics theme or principle in a complete paragraph that is general and broadly applicable to life.

To be honest is to be believed in to create a bond that will grow and prosper. To be dishonest is to be led astray to harm others to where they might get in trouble, injured, or even worse death and all bonds, present or future, will be no longer. Honesty is a means to build one’s trust. In the end, honesty can help a person go a long way, while dishonesty will lead to nowhere as stated by some of the Proverbs.

Discuss how the ethics thread is supported and/or refuted by the ethical theories discussed in class and the professional codes of ethics.

Duty ethics focus on treating others, the people believing the person(s), as the person(s) telling the information want to be treated. Duty ethics support the ethics thread on honesty because the person(s) giving out the information does not want to be lied to as much as the people listening to the person(s). The person(s) do not want the people that are listening to end up in trouble, getting hurt or possibly worse death.
Utilitarian ethics focus on the needs of many, the people believing the person(s) or the receiver, and outweigh the few, the person(s) telling the information or the giver. Utilitarian ethics are focused on the consequences, so the giver should consider all the possible scenarios the receiver will face if they follow the giver’s word in case minimal or lethal harm comes to them.
