Allergies can't stop a kid from being a kid Every parent wants their newly born to be in a germ free environment, because they don't want them to get sick. So it might lead to them getting rid of any pets in the house or never getting one at all. Well according to research, their has been a confirmation that having pets at a younger age can build up their immune system; pets can also give kids a slim chance of developing allergies possibly none at all. If you have any pets at a younger age, then you develop a significant amount of antibodies to dog/cat allergens(Pets reduce children's allergy risk, 2011). Which are known as allergic sensitization. The children have already gotten immune to the pets being in the house, making their sensitivity Actually having a pet can have many positive outcomes for their children's health. “Parents don't have to worry about keeping cats and dogs in the house in terms of increasing the risks of allergies to their children” (Ownby, 2014). Proven a fact, in a home with two or more pets, 77% were less likely to develop various types of allergies than without pets. Many people get the idea that just because pets are considered animals, that they are filthy and give off germs. In fact having pets in households could help improve your body with fighting off allergens. With regular upkeep of your animal they cause no harm to your body, nor your child's health as they continue to grow. Another example, my two year old cousin has lived in a home with a dog ever since he was born. “He has never gotten any sickness related to the dog being in doors” (Garcia, 2016).
