According to lecture, before Obamacare was introduced, about one third of the people in the United States got insurance from one of three government programs: Medicare, Medicad and CHIP. There were about sixteen to twenty percent were uninsured during that time who were mostly young adults and people who were poor. This can caused them not to have the opportunity to seek medical attention when they need to. Obamacare changed all of that because it helped those who did not have medical insurance to have insurance. Not only Obamacare increases the “utility” by increasing the pleasure in a society, it helps the least advantaged in society, however members in society will not see healthcare as a commodity that could be bought and sold. This connection can be seen in the “original position”. Members in society are concerned are interested to advance their own life plan. For example, an individual member in society may want to have a good healthcare because it can help them achieve their life plan. In addition, this helps the least advantaged members in society. According to lecture, before the Obama Care Act there were about sixteen to twenty percent that were uninsured. This helps the least advantage in society because they were not able to get insurance due to the economic problems. Moreover, it helps the least advantage members now to have a chance to further their life plans. Hence, having Obamacare helps members in society to help further their life plans and help the least advantaged members in society. The relationship of buying healthcare and buying drafting for the military is similar. According to lecture, it is morally wrong for someone to take place of someone in the military. Moreover, Sandel argues that everyone who is part of the military has an obligation to be part of it and it degrades the other person because they are being bought to go because they do not have a family to go
