Should national service become mandatory for all Americans? There are many reasons to support mandatory national service, but just like everything with a pro there will be some cons. To begin with one pro is you have between the ages of 18-30 years old to complete just one year of national service. Another benefit to mandatory national service is the government will pay for the whole year of living expenses. To many Americans now a days who face poverty this is a huge benefit. Also noting, that you arent required to just service at a local level, you have the choice between a local level, a national level, or a military level.
