As the number of exotic animals kept as pets keep rising, there are going to be less and less exotic animals, especially tigers, in the wild. The popular trend of keeping exotic pets has caused thousands of exotic animals to be captured and forced to live in an environment that does not meet their needs. It has also led to many incidents involving the injuries or deaths of humans and exotic animals, which has led some states to pass tougher laws on ownership of exotic pets. Supporters of illegalizing exotic pets also believe that exotic animals belong to be free in their natural habitats. I believe that is should not be legal to keep exotic animals as pets because exotic pets pose a threat to the safety of their owners and the public and are dangerous to human health. Exotic pets should be illegal because they pose threat to the safety of their owners and the public. According to the Born Free USA, the total amount of incidents since 1990 involving exotic pets are 2,682, including 88 human deaths, which does not include any death that was not heard through media reporting. The fact that 88 humans were killed by exotic animals in the United States alone proves that exotic animals threaten the safety of people as the number of deaths would definitely be higher if all of the countries were included.
