A fertilizer is a chemical substance or a natural substance added to soil to increase its nutrients content. Fertilizers replenish the soil with nutrients that have been depleted. There are two types of fertilizers which include: Organic and Inorganic Fertilizers.
Organic Fertilizer is derived from animal manure and vegetable scraps or remains. Inorganic Fertilizers are artificially produced in a chemical laboratory to contain a certain percentage of nutrients, mainly nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium, which plants require for growth.
Fertilizers promote growth, as they contain nutrients that plants require for full development and growth.
