You know what I just don’t get is how people are getting back into denim. I don’t see it much in school but out of school it is dennom everything. You see denim something everywhere, denim dresses to socks. I am totally not against denim, I mean i do wear jeans but I would not wear a denim dress or shirt. I just think it is so weird people used to hate wearing denim on denim. People would look at you weird if you have a denim jacket on with jeans, and now you are cool if you are dressed in denim from head to toe. I just don’t understand it! Why I think being dressed in denim from head to toe is definitely not flattering. I think if you decide to wear denim you should pair it with something that is not denim! Another thing that I don’t understand
I'm sure everyone has seen them. The pants so tight they appear to be painted on. But then they realize, they're not actually pants, merely relatively thick tights masquerading as pants. Suddenly they're thinking, surely these women forgot to put on the bottom half of their outfits. Notwithstanding, this abomination was completely intentional. Women are now wearing leggings in the stead of pants, which is one fashion trend that our community, and the world at large, could do without. Although undoubtedly comfortable, and completely acceptable when worn under dresses, skirts, long shirts, and shorts, leggings are not the most flattering article of clothing when worn in lieu of pants. When worn incorrectly, leggings draw attention to the negative aspects of the wearers body. People can see every jiggle of the thighs and butt, every dimple of cellulite, and every crevice of a person's anatomy. Generally speaking, most females would not want to promulgate these details of their bodies, but todays young women apparently thrive on displaying them for the world to see.
Although clothing styles change from generation to generation, the newest fad is always a result of the old. It’s a cause and effect relationship, if children of this generation are dressing inappropriately, future generations will find this acceptable and go a step further. If clothing restrictions are enforced in the now, there is hope for future generations.

Most Schools have some kind of dress code, although some places enforce it less than others. Newport Harbor doesn’t enforce it as much as other schools do. If we wore clothes like how we do now in another school, you would probably get dress coded.

Many students get in lots of trouble because they are freely expressing themselves through their clothes. Someone should not be censored because of their beliefs. The first step in human equality is people not being frowned upon in an oppressive way because of their beliefs. Students should be able to wear controversial clothing to school because they have the right to free expression, the school can’t stop you from wearing something just because they disapprove of the message, and that the schools cannot ban you from wearing something unless it causes a substantial disruption.

Having gone through a school system that considered adopting a uniform policy, I would have to press against the issue of mandated uniforms, because it is simply un-American and unjust.

A current debate argues weather a dress code policy is efficient or takes away from student’s expression. Administrators at schools should regulate a dress code policy because the system improves discipline and student’s attention, reduces social conflict and peer pressure related to appearance, and dress code provides a more serious learning environment.
Fashion is one of those things that people can claim they don't care about. They can defend again and again that it doesn't matter what one wears, it's the person who wears it. But in all likelihood they will continue to be judged, as we all are, for the clothes on our body, the shoes on our feet and the hairstyle we are sporting.

School uniforms improve school academics, prevent gang violence, and assist families, who can not afford expensive clothing.
