Recommended: Why should you become a physical therapist

Since I was in the 3rd grade, I have always wanted to pursue my career as a physical therapist. It interest me because my grandma had a physical therapist at home. This therapist was the most kind and loving woman who made the job look fun and interesting. When seeking a career as a physical therapist a person should look at aspects such as one’s responsibilities necessary skills, plus other important aspects such as working conditions, salary and future of the job; however just as important is to carefully seek out the institution of higher learning that will best prepare one for this profession such as The University of Texas in Austin.

There is as well excellent job opportunities ; are high in demand. You work in a career that helps people, which many people find the human service professions to be very rewarding as they have the ability to watch patient’s progress and get better. There is excellent salaries, in 2009 the average physical therapist salary was $75,000.00 opportunities for interaction with people. The very first biggest con is that the cost of education, finishing school with student loans is very likely and a large portion of your physical therapist salary, during the first few years of employment will go toward repaying the loans. Very little opportunity for career change later on PTs are unlikely to be able to switch fields without additional, education unless they are able to move up in their clinical situation maybe to a manager. Physical Therapist as well need to be renewing their license. The biggest con of them is that it burns you out. It can be emotionally stressful to deal with injured patients all day most of who are in pain. Not all of them will be pleasant to work with some will even refuse to follow the pain established for them all
