Abortion, sometimes called termination of pregnancy, is the process where the pregnancy ends before the fetus/baby is born. There are two types of abortion that can be processed. The first one is a medical abortion, which can be done by taking medical pills to terminate the pregnancy. This pill is usually taken up to 24 weeks within the pregnancy. The second process is called surgical abortion, which is considered as a minor operation. There is a vacuum aspiration which is handled up to 15 weeks within the pregnancy. Dilatation and evacuation, which is another surgical way is managed between 15 and 24 weeks. Females prefer the medical process since its more natural and much easier. Some fetuses are proven to have a genetic abnormality. There are many cases where the fetus is said to be born with unhealthy; down syndrome, cancer, disability, and many other uncommon cases. “An ultrasound report suggests about the physical development of the fetus. During the early months of pregnancy, many things can go wrong as a new baby starts developing. The cells are multiplying at a very fast rate that can cause some complex interactions between newly formed body parts. Such interactions may cause serious defect to the child and may also invite complications in pregnancy.” There are other tests such as amniocentesis, which are performed between 14 – 20 weeks. This test detects a variety of chromosomal abnormalities and genetic disorders. Women and their husbands should have the right to be able to decide whether they are capable of raising their children with serious conditions or not. It could be very tough financially, emotionally, and physically. Financially speaking if the child is mentally or physically ill, the parents would have to make a certain budget plan since they need extra care. Disabled kids take more time to be potty trained, and some unfortunately aren’t able at all so that would result in a life time budget of diapers. Don Marquis has a restrictive view on abortion. He first states that the killer, most likely the mother will be viewed as a brutalizer. Then, there will be effects on the victims like families, relatives, and friends. Lastly, there will be an effect on the person killed since his view is that the killer will take away all of their future experiences. This is so not true and no one should be able to call a mother a brutalizer. The mother undergoes abortion rather than putting her life into jeopardy or having her child go through a life time of problems. She shouldn’t be labeled as a brutalizer. There will be an effect on the victims like families, relatives and friends because they will feel really hurt seeing the baby suffering. The family would feel a physiological harm if they reject the mother’s opinion to go through abortion because of a health condition. The father can be very paranoid and frightened on how to raise a mentally/physically ill child. Some parents sometimes even give up and give them for abortion because they feel that the responsibility for raising an ill child is really big. So if the parents are really nervous in this tough situation, it should be ok to go through abortion to not face this tough experience. Parents and or grandparents can also be very effected to see the baby in an unstable condition and go through
