The key was a sign of comfort and it showed what type of character Oskar’s dad was as if he knew that he was going to die. The key is closure for both Oskar and the book and shows that it is time to let go. Keys are important objects in our daily lives, though never give them a second thought. They open doors, and beyond those doors are things that provide us with comfort or happiness. Without our house keys, for instance, we wouldn’t be able to get into our homes and see our families. A teenager may get stressed out when trying to drive in high-traffic situations. Nissan is helping them by using an intelligent cruise control that will slow down and speed up with traffic while staying a distance away from the driver in front of them. It prevents the young driver from tailgating and coming into dangerous speed-related incidents. Teenage drivers are inexperienced and it is common for them to back into fixed objects. Parents get frustrated when they have to pay to fix the vehicle after it has been damaged and body work can be expensive. Nissan has everyone covered with their advanced rear-view backup camera. “A dashboard monitor shows the area behind the vehicle using a rear-mounted camera. This helps make parking easier and helps avoid collisions with fixed objects while backing” (Nissan 9). With the temperature so cold out, I decided to warm up my car a little before leaving. However, I work in a not so nice part of town where an unattended car might be stolen. So to avoid this, I left the car running but took the door key off the key chain and locked the doors. When I returned to my warm car to leave, I just threw the door key in the middle compartment of the dash, instead of putting it back on the key chain where it belonged.
