Proof of the existence of a necessary being, is followed by a logical belief that He, being God, has revealed Himself to us, as leaving us to our own devices now would not make sense. This incites a search for a religion that recognizes the truths realized, and contains revelation. Some religions, such as Hinduism, Buddhism, Confucianism, and Paganism, can be eliminated because of their disregard of basic truths. Throughout the text, Jesus claims to be God multiple times. This is seen in John 14:8-11, summarized to “The Father and I are one.” John 8:58 also contains one of these claims, “Jesus said to them, ‘Amen, amen, I say to you, before Abraham came to be, I AM.’” Another is seen in Matt 26:63-66, “But Jesus was silent. Then the high priest said to him, ‘I order you to tell us under oath before the living God whether you are the Messiah, the Son of God.’ Jesus said to him in reply, ‘You have said so. The Church will be universal, and meant for all, for a Catholic Church is everywhere with its faithful, its missionaries, and the like. Finally, this Church will be descended from the Apostles, and teach what they taught and believed. There is only one Church whose origin is traced back to the Apostles and fulfills all other criteria, and that is the Catholic Church. Still, with these facts supporting the Church, there are objections against it and its status as the one, true Church. Some cite the corruption of bad popes, but the Church does not claim that its members will be perfect and will not sin, and this includes its popes, and even in the cases of corrupted popes, the Church remained faithful to doctrine. Others use the fact that the Church teaches things not contained in scripture as justification. While this is true, those who make this claim ignore the fact that there are churches that blatantly ignore teachings written in scripture. It is also written that Christ did many things that were not
