Getting “Saved” also called “Salvation” or being “Born Again, are terms used as part of the vocabulary of many Christians, but what does it mean to get “Saved”? How does one become “Born Again”? The term “Saved” means to be saved from an eternity in hell when one dies. To be “Born Again” refers to being born a second time. First a person is born from their mother, and the second time through faith in Jesus, they are born of the Spirit into God’s family. There is a special process someone must go through to be saved, but it’s as easy as A, B, C.

“A” stands for Admit. The first step a person must go through in obtaining salvation is to come to the realization that they are actually a sinner. Most people think since they haven’t committed any major criminal offences such as; murdered, stealing, adultery etc., and they are nice and kind to others, that they are generally “good”. Unfortunately, if we look to God’s Word, the Bible, it tells us a different story. In Romans 3:10 it says: “As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one.” And Romans 3:23 says: “All have sinned and come short of the glory of God”. Basically, sin entered the world back from the original sin in the Garden of Eden. In turn as descendents of Adam and Eve, we were born sinners. A lot of people don’t agree with this fact, and this is where many are stuck. If you think about how Holy and perfect God is, and try and compare us to Him, that’s where you can see how imperfect and sinful we are. To God, anger is a sin. Lying is a sin. Lust is a sin. So even generally “good” people are not good enough to get to heaven on ones own. Once they come to this realization, and can admit they are sinners on the way to hell, because they are not ...

Finally step “C”, is to Confess your sins. Jesus has paid the price for all of ones sins past, present and future. All he asks is that a person confesses their sins and asks for his forgiveness, which He freely gives. Does being saved mean a person will never sin again? Of course not. People are human and will make mistakes. Does this mean one needs to get saved every time they sin? No, the Bible tells us that we can never loose our salvation. John 10:28 says: And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.”

In conclusion salvation is not as complicated as one might think. God wanted it to be easy for everyone to attain, and yet still some people deny him and refuse to hear his word due to their stub earn human nature.
