Journal #1 Growing up my parents never read fairy tale books to me and the movies didn’t get my attention. For example a very popular story was “The Princess and The Frog” which I never read nor was read to me. But eight years ago when the movie “The Princess and The Frog” was released and it was the first time Disney featured an African American Princess. Which I thought was great for a change from the same old lost, clueless white princesses who lived happily ever after. Instead it tells the story of a middle class African American young woman who is courageous, focused and works hard for her dreams. Princess Tiana taught me to have a vision hers was to open a restaurant, the food she would serve, the decorations, and it would be named Tiana’s Place. And mine at that time was to become a veterinarian and how my clinic would look, the animals I would have and it would be called Montserrats VET. The main attributes I like about Tiana was her dedication and hard working attitude. It’s shown in the movie how she works long hours, saves every penny and does extra work on the side. It’s plain rude because I am trying to get to my class on time and I am confident others feel the same way. The worst thing that has happened to me was that I was walking behind a girl and she stropped to talk her friend right in front of me and as I try to go around I bumped into her on accident and I looked back to apologize but I was faced with the meanest dog face ever. So I just turned around and kept walking but soon encountered two girls who were having a conversation walking like snails. And that just made my blood boil like how immature can a person
