The University of California Los Angeles is a public college located in Los Angeles, California. UCLA was founded May 23, 1919 by Edward Dickinson. There are a total of 43,292 Undergraduate Students Enrolled at the University (UCLA Admission Quick Facts). The campus lies on 419 acres at the base of the Santa Monica mountains, giving students an ocean perspective and a mountain perspective. These requirements require students to have a 4.29 GPA, SAT Score of 1941 and an ACT Score of 28 (College Calc).These requirements make the school extremely competitive and difficult to get into. Universities that are at the same level of UCLA are University of California Santa Barbara, Florida, University of Texas Austin and American University. UCLA also has a large quantity of notable programs to study in such as Henry Samueli School of Engineering and Applied Science, School of Law, David Geffen School of Medicine, School of Nursing and School of Public Health (Ucla.Edu). UCLA is a student friendly housing college, as 96% of enrolled Freshmen live on campus (US News College Rankings). The students enrolled have plenty of activities to do when not in class, the campus is located short drives from beaches, museums, sporting venues and to historic towns and neighborhoods. The students can also attend the year round sporting events and support the Bruins at the world famous Rose Bowl, a short 15 minute drive from the university. My grandfather attended the university and so did my dad. I was brought up cheering for the Bruins and going to all the football games. I’ve been a Bruins fan as long as I can remember. I also have aspirations to play baseball in college, I would go to any school that offers me a scholarship, but my dream is to play for UCLA If I were to attend UCLA I would Major in Political Science and Minor in Philosophy.
