Have you ever the heard phrase “Cause we all just wanna be big rockstars (Nickelback)”?Well, in Post Malone’s Rockstar that exactly what he is suggesting in his song. Released in September 2017, Post Malone a newer style of modern rap, the song also features rapper 21 savage and has reached the top of the Billboard charts. The song Rockstar is an influential, thought-provoking song that is valuable to young adults and teenager in 1st world countries due to; the overall themes presented, points out the shift in rap culture, and positive outlook on life.
Post Malone promotes a major theme of freedom and doing what you want regardless of other people expectations, which I personally relate too. He refers to having multiple female partners in one night. Malone wants Millennials to not worry about outside worries, but focus on enjoying the best out of life. Some examples of those are Lil Yatchy, Lil Uzi Vert, and Post Malone; they are popular for American audiences because of the fun uplifting beat that they have. Post Malone has a dressing style like rock star Marilyn Manson and draws some of his influence. The song Rockstar has a modern-day description of a decades-old lifestyle. The way that rappers become famous now is different than twenty years ago. Now artists can post a song on a music streaming service and become viral because of social media. The events that Post Malone talks about in his songs provide great imagery as to what becoming famous is.
