Medicare is the term that refers to Canada's beneficially, fully funded health care system. In alternative to having a national plan, Canada’s health care insurance plans are segregated depending on the province, or territory an individual inhabits. Through Medicare, all Canadian residents have an advantage to accessing medical aid when needed. In comparison to other countries, which have limited to no access to their health services, Canada is seen as a world leader in medical aid facilities. The development of medicare in Canada had a positive impact in Canadian history because it made Canada an advanced nation, highly fulfilled the needs of society, and profitably impacts every Canadian family. This included many veterans who were returning home from the war and needed aid, for both physical and their mental state. Due to the high cost of medical care, many of them would have a hard time paying off the costs. Then due to the economy getting back to normal, after the war and great depression, it would be hard to find a certified doctor to perform the procedure accordingly. Since, “Canada deeply values the contribution that Veterans have made to the development of our nation and we honour the sacrifices they have made in the defence of freedom and the pursuit of world peace,” the Canadian government recognizes what the veterans must have gone through, and the amount of help they could possibly need to recover. With support the services provided for the veterans are now very effective, ever since they are covered through medicare. As a bonus retired veterans have access to the aid that they acquire in their later years, when they are in special aid facilities or senior residential homes. Therefore, by bringing in medicare, the veterans also received benefits to help them get back to their normal life. This assists them financially, and economically to start a family, and get the help needed to continue better
