There are many effective strategies that educators implement to provide positive feedback to the students in the classroom. As an educator, I have an infinite number of responsibilities in the classroom that I have to complete every day; for this reason, I am guilty of not providing enough positive feedback to my students so they can become better learners and reflect on their own progress. According to McCoy (2013), self-reflection provides opportunity for students to think about their own thinking and their own progress. One of the strategies that I have used in my classroom is providing feedback in a way that is educative in nature. I am planning to continue implementing all the new transition strategies provided in this course as well as keep providing effective feedback to all my students in the classroom. For instance, I am planning to utilize the notebook to provide feedback and track student progress as well as give exams and quizzes back to the students with positive comments and wait to see if they have any questions (Reynolds, 2013). These two strategies will help and motivate my students to establish a positive relationship. I would also want to improve implementing more programs to motivate my students using technology in my classroom. One of the programs that I will definitely implement is the GoNoodle because is an effective tool to use as a behavior motivator (GoNoodle, 2016). This effective tool will alleviate many issues with the students. The last strategy that I want to improve is to engage my students in their learning and reinforce positive behavior by providing extrinsic rewards such as prizes, tickets for school games, and assist the teacher of your choice for fifteen minutes.
