“Lobbying, any attempt by individuals or private interest groups to influence the decisions of government; in its original meaning it referred to efforts to influence the votes of legislators, generally in the lobby outside the legislative chamber. Lobbying in some form is inevitable in any political system.”(Britannica) Lobbying has been an important part of the political system for a long time. It provides a way for business to get an input on the political system.Lobbying in the modern day requires large amounts of money in order to get the attention of politicians.(Greenhaven Press)( These groups do this by hosting events and supporting politicians campaign in order to get support for their views. Lobbyist may also attack candidates in order to get what they want by creating attack ads or convincing others that a politician should change their position on a topic.(Britannica)

Things like this would include full disclosure on if a politician had received any lobbying efforts on a particular topic that is being voted on in order to take that bias into account when other politicians are voting on that bil. This would also help make it clear to voters who their politicians are taking into account when making the choices which affect them in washington and at home.This would put some power back to the voter. When a politician runs ads it should also made more than clear who is funding their campaign and what effect does corporations have had on their view on topics. All of these approaches center on making the voter much more informed about their politicians and who they hold themselves accountable to. (John
