A great man once said, “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.”(Mandela). Times have changed and today because of legendary political activists like Nelson Mandela, people feel inspired to speak up; they use their voices and pens to cause political change and fight for their rights. Also, nowadays people are granted so much more freedom than they were in the past and they are provided with so many different methods of expressing their political opinions and ideologies. Whether they are using the internet, forming an organization or writing a book it has become so much easier for them to share what they believe in with the intention of impacting the world.
Anyone today can form an activist organization which supports a specific cause. There are a lot of organizations that strive to positively influence the world. A good example of a Canadian organization which is trying to change things around and is succeeding in doing so is MADD (Mothers Against Drunk Driving). Mothers Against Drunk Driving is an organization which aims to minimize impaired driving as much as possible in order to prevent the accidents that result from it. It was founded in 1980 by a woman called Candy Lightner who lost her daughter to drunk driving and strongly believed that it was an issue that needed to be dealt with. A lot of people joined her organization and today MADD has over 3 million members. MADD holds awareness campaigns in order to spread awareness about the dangers of driving under the influence. In its campaigns, the members show videos and presentations and hold lectures providing statistics of the fatalities; this raises the children’s consciousness on the issue. It’s true that the kony campaign was not a success in the sense that Kony escaped and was not captured but a lot of money was raised to help the African children. The Kony campaign will always be a remainder of what people are actually capable of doing to obtain the change they want to see in the world.
People are very blessed to be able to share their opinion as freely as they can; it makes political activism so much easier. This current generation values every individual’s opinion and is very welcoming of change. People can use the internet, form an organization or write a book that forwards a political opinion in order to share what they believe in and affect the world around them greatly.

A country needs to have a conscious and participatory citizen in the community, education is a prime to this role, a bridge for the development of critical thinking.We can see the example of black people back in the slave time, when some of them began to read and write they became aware of their rights as a citizens and consequently could fight for their freedom. History accounts for the great contributions of women in promoting social justice, particularly in uplifting the morale and functions of women in the society. From being the oppressed gender, various women managed to change the traditional roles of women by fighting for their rights to be heard and for them to given equal opportunities. These women boldly stood against gender stereotypes of women and proved the entire world that they could defy conventions. Particularly at the turn of the 20th century, women battled against the oppressions brought by patriarchy in different ways. These activist women had crusaded for the promotion of their civil rights, sexual freedom, and pursued careers which were once forbidden to them.
Restraint and Activism Judicial activism is loosely defined as decisions or judgements handed down by judges that take a broad interpretation of the constitution. It is a decision that is more of a reflection of how the judge thinks the law should be interpreted, rather than how the law has or was intended to be interpreted. There are many examples of judicial activism; examples include the opinions of Sandra Day O'Connor in the Lynch v. Donnelly and the Wallace v. Jaffree trials. Sandra Day argues for the changing of the First Amendment's ban on "establishment" of religion into a ban on "endorsement" of religion. Others include the U.S. v. Kinder, where Congress passed legislation that would require a minimum sentence for persons caught distributing more than 10 grams of cocaine.
Many great minds believe that education is a powerful tool. Investing in your education is the most valuable and most rewarding thing a person can do to secure their future. Influential people who have brought positive changes to the world have said: “The investment in knowledge pays the best interest”. I am deeply committed to social activism; the words of Desmond Tutu inform my actions every day: “If you are neutral in situations of injustice, you have chosen the side of the oppressor.” At Phillips Academy, I am active in Women’s Forum, BOSS Magazine, and GSA.These activities give me the opportunity to speak out on issues such as race, feminism, LGBTQ+ rights, and intersectionality, but as much I value discussion, I would like to move beyond mere conversation; I want to do something. I want my life and my work to make a difference in the world.

Groups of people joined organizations to rally or camp out in certain places to seek attention of politicians and celebrities who made big influences on the world. The more donations that came in, the more rehabilitation camps, facilities and supplies were bought in to save children from being captured and save those who were already captured. By targeting the attention of politicians, who in the video were called “policy makers”, has “the power to keep US government officials in Africa in order to work toward the capture of Joseph Kony. Although until today they still have not captured Kony, they have made a difference in saving children’s lives and helping former child soldiers to go back to being a normal human being and going back to their communities.

Each one, however, has a different conception of what a natural state is, and ultimately, this leads to a different conception of what a government should be, based on this natural state. Aristotle’s feelings on the natural state of man is much different than that of modern philosophers and leads to a construction of government in and of itself; government for Hobbes and Locke is a departure from the natural state of man.
In the summer of 1980 Communist Poland was experiencing labor unrest at an unprecedented level. Living standards were still very low, the economy was stagnant, and food shortages and inflation were abundant. The Polish Communist Party was faced with nationwide strikes, and their tactics of buying off workers had failed because there were too many people striking. However, when the strikes spread to the Lenin Shipyard in Gdańsk on August 14th, everything was about to change. The strikers were backed by waves of support from other industrial centers, and the Communist Party was forced to negotiate with them. Under the leadership of Lech Walesa the strikers emerged victorious and the formation of an independent trade union called Solidarity was born.
A socio-political issue can be viewed as any matter that touches on both the social and political aspects of a given society. In other words, it is how the political issues through various policies or laws affect the general social facets. Examples of socio-political issues that are evident in the American society today include immigration, health, and gun control among others. Perhaps the most prevalent of these socio-political issues is immigration, which has received much attention especially due to the current presidential race (Trump). The question remains whether immigrants without valid documents should be transported back to their home countries or be granted amnesty has been the source of differing ideologies. The media has not been spared of this spectacle as various medium outlets have been vigilant airing any up-to-the-minute occurrence related to immigration.
Think of the fight to cure AIDS, cancer research, Alzheimer's research and now healthy life extension. Productively framing, placing and keeping a problem front and center in the mainstream of our culture is hard work, but that education and persuasion unlock purses far and wide. Government money is usually the least of these resources. Far more funding comes from a venture, charitable and corporate concerns. Corporations and venture capitalists see mainstream culture explicitly in terms of needs and markets for future products. If a need is shouted loudly enough, money will be directed to answer that need. Charitable causes answer the same needs and more certainly goes to those needs shouted loudly from the rooftops but through voluntary donations and giving. AIDS funding in the 80s and 90s is one crowning example of a victory for activism and advocacy. In a comparatively short few years, AIDS moved from obscure disease to the center of media attention. There was a close relationship between activists and researchers at that time. The floodgates of research funding opened and AIDS progressed from death sentence to manageable condition for those with access to treatment. Through activism, we, become more aware of current life situations and we make a change for the better with larger groups of people who believe in that we believe

Those who can’t afford an education do whatever it takes to try and learn. They know that it will lead to a better future for them. An education will not only lead to a job with more money, but it will also expand people’s minds. They will be able to create new ideas and inventions. The best way for us to change the world is through educating our youth. With a better education, they can become inspired to invent new things. Some could grow up to find cures to diseases. Educating the youth is the key to changing the world. The children of today are the leaders of tomorrow. The best way for us to give a good education to our youth is by refining our school system.
