In the United States police brutality has been a issue that has been existing for a long time, but it is getting worst every year. No matter what city it is, police officers are the biggest fear to Hispanic and African-American communities. In this paper, I'm going to talk about the history of police brutality, analyze divergent viewpoints and what can be done to stop it. Police brutality wasn’t really important before but nowadays it is a important issue because it happens more often. The term "police brutality" was used in the American press as early as 1872 when a civilian was hit under arrest. Police brutality consists of excessive deadly force,unjustified shootings and filing untrue reports. This problem has been growing over time and nothing has really been done to stop police brutality. African American and Hispanic people are impacted the most because they are discriminated more than white people. 52% of African-American are worried about being treated unfairly by police officers. There are more African Americans that don’t feel safe when they are on the streets because they can be killed or injured by a police officer. There have been some cases that when a police officer kills an unarmed person they are put in jail, but that doesn’t really help to solve the problem because then they get a bail.
