Gaming systems are an electrical, digital or computer device that outputs a visual display that shows a video game that one or more people can play. They have been around since the 1970s and are still being produced. The first gaming system developed by Ralph Baer, was called the Magnavox Odyssey. I have tried and owned multiple systems, including the Nintendo 64, PlayStation 1, Xbox 360, and Nintendo ds, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, PlayStation 2, PC and PlayStation 4. With my experience owning gaming systems, I have decided that the PlayStation 4 is the best option for a console and is better than the Xbox One and PC. The main reason I am adhering to the PlayStation 4 is because it has the best features. It allows me to play any game at a higher degree of detail than other consoles such as the Xbox One and PC. Users like myself get to see better graphics at a display setting of 4k. This puts the PlayStation ahead of all other competitors. Another extra feature it has is the ability to play against people worldwide. For example, I could play a game at my house with someone way in china via online for no cost. Playstation is the best option for playing with friends. All of my friends that I talk to have one of their own and when we play together we play for bragging rights; then, shove it in each other's face the next day. Also, its cost is super affordable compared to the Xbox One and PC. If I bought a different console other than the PS4, I would not have anyone to play with. Also, the PS4 lets me and my friends share games with each other as long as the other buys the video game while the other gets it for free. The Xbox One has the better games of the two and has a faster processor exceeding the PS4’s by 1 GHz. It has a better camera, is more structurally stable than the Playstation 4 and runs marginally quieter. On the other hand the Playstation 4 has a slimmer design and had a stronger GPU but a slower CPU. It doesn’t feature the games that I want but most of my friends are buying it. I would like to own both consoles but would not have time to play both so I will have to make a decision. I have decided to get the Playstation 4 due to its greater versatility and because of the greater amount of Indie games. The main reason though is that most of my friends are getting this console. Although I hope to someday own both consoles.

I chose the PlayStation 4 as my artifact because it is the computer that provides media and entertainment to the largest screen in a living space: the television. Having a beautiful eighty inch flat screen is useless without a device to play media. The PlayStation 4 is my device of choice to have connected to my TV. It is the jack of all trades, gaming on it is phenomenal, there is a Blu-ray player built in, and it has hundreds, if not thousands, of apps including Netflix. With a PlayStation 4 plugged into my TV I have access to endless amounts of content; A fundamental need to the college life.
