The Sony Playstation 3 (PS3) is the most recent game consoles by Sony Inc. to come out. Becoming the trilogy of the Playstation series, the PS3 packs many of the same or similar characteristics as the Playstation 2 (PS2). But it also has its own characteristics which places it on another level. Being a highly priced console (ranging from $400-$600), there is a lot offered from the PS3 console. It includes high-definition graphics (HDTV compatible), a Blu-ray disc hard drive, wireless controllers, Gigabit Ethernet, and a built-in Bluetooth. There is also plenty of memory space available on the console. Sony has generated four versions of the PS3; there is a 20GB, 40GB, 60GB, and 80GB PS3 game system. The PS3 has many wonderful features available, much worth the cost of an upgrade from the PS2. So get ready for an experience of a life time; like nothing you’ve experienced with the PS2; as there is plenty to explore while playing the PS3 game console.
To get started with the full experience, make sure that you purchase a HD television. You will also need the HDMI cable alone with an HDCP compliant HDTV. Now you’re ready to sit back and be impressed by the stunning visuals gained. The higher resolution is more than worth it, running at 1,080 pixel resolution. It will play at 60 frames per second. After I played NCAA Football 2009, I was totally amazed at the graphics and visuals. I felt like I was actually there inside of the game its self. I have the 80GB PS3 and a 22’’ HDTV. My console cost me $600 from BestBuy, seeing that I purchased the highest version. The HD television was brought from Sam’s Club for $235. The experience from having the HDTV with the console is so much better than on a regular television. There is just so much to do with this console that I believe I will never regret or hate that I purchased it. After a year or two a new game console will most likely come in to play. Even with that, the PS3 will still be up par and well talked about. So in my opinion, it was worth every dollar spent! But other than the cost, this console is every reason to upgrade and get a taste of the new era of gaming.

The Xbox runs an Intel Pentium III 733-megahertz (MHz) processor. This is a lot more powerful than Nintendo Gamecube’s IBM Power PC 485-megahertz Gekko chip processor and even lower the Sony Playstation 2’s 128 bit “Emotion Engine” which is clocked around 294-megahertz. A few more components that make this console far superior to any other is its graphics processor, or GPU, which stands for Graphic Processing Unit. Microsoft had teamed up with Nvidia to create a chip that was made especially for the Xbox. The computer-based company ‘s 250-megahertz chip gives the console an amazing resolution of 1920x1080 pixels and 125 Million Polygons per Second. Sixty four- (64) megabytes (Mb) of DDRam back all this up, for great non-glitch games and smooth running. Nintendo also has a computer-based company teaming up with them to create the 162-megahertz ATI Flipper GPU Chip. My neighbor bought a Samsung ln32b360 32 inch 720p lcd hdtv, and she invited me over to watch our favorite soap operas on it. I have to say I have never seen a clearer or sharper picture in my life on a television set. When they say the movies and shows you watch will come to life they mean it. The realism of the images is amazing, because the details are so enhanced. Samsung has great audio technology so that the speakers deliver a surround sound experience to increase the realism.
