Field Summary: According to Money magazine, Physician Assistant is one of the top ten best jobs in America. The Bureau of Labor Statistics projects a 38 percent job growth rate for the profession through 2022 (source). Physician Assistants, work under a Physicians or a Surgeons supervision to help treat and diagnose patients. They are usually called PA’s, in the healthcare industry, as an abbreviation. PA’s, are expected to preform physical exams, order and interpret diagnostic tests, such as x-rays or blood work, educate patients about the best coarse of action for a certain disorder or disease, prescribe medicine, and record a patients progress (source). A bachelors degree from an accredited university is needed to get into a masters …show more content…

In his article he explains that for most of his life growing up, he wanted to help people by becoming a doctor, he was so determined that he did not care how hard his classes were or how many years it would take for him to finish. Pasquini, explains how he has always wanted to treat his own patients and that he wanted to be there for people who are sick. However, he starts to talk about the amount of time that doctors put into their work and how they must be willing to sacrifice being with their families on holidays, missing birthdays, and basically says that they have to be available at all times to see a patient. This is one reason why people shy away from the medical field and it seems like Pasquini, is trying to spread awareness about the lifestyle of a doctor before they decide to become one. Also, he is encouraging those who want to be apart of the medical field but still want to enjoy their personal life out work, to look into Physician Assistant programs. He made it possible to follow his dreams without missing out on his life at home with his family. It is important to note that Pasquni, uses very casual language throughout his article. He tries to relate to young college students, makes his content easy to follow along with, and fun to read. It is kind of like he is having a conversation with a friend or writing an entry for a blog rather than it being a formal article. It seems like he is very satisfied with the path that he chose and he feels strongly about the topic he talks
