Photographers put a lot of work into their photos and people try to use them for exposure instead of paying them. In today’s photography world, many photographers are used to working for exposure, while others love the benefits they get from it. Exposing yourself into this world can be tough and exhausting but, some photographers will agree to do anything to get to the top and others don’t agree to the circumstances of working for exposure. One obvious reason they should not is because they are not getting paid for all the work they have put in to take and edit wonderful photos. All the labor that photographers put into their photos should be paid for because it is not going to pay their bills, put gas into their car, or buy the best camera equipment that is probably expensive. The time and effort that these photographers put in adds value and amazing work to their photos. Others would say working for exposure is the best thing for their career because once you are out there, reached your goal, and everyone knows that you are one of the best, it is the greatest achievement you can reach for your future even if you did not get paid along the way. The art world of photography is changing all the time. Peter Schjeldahl starts out with a very strong and well written paragraph about the world of art. Peter Schjeldahl says, “You can always tell a William Eggleston photograph. It’s the one in color that hits you in the face and leaves you confused and happy, and perhaps convinces you that you don’t understand photography nearly as well as you thought you did”. These couple of sentences are very strong and flow so well together, and they grab the reader’s attention. Peter explains how William Eggleston was known as a great American photographer.
I’ve always wondered how a single image could show a beautiful lie or a horrific truth of any picture taken. No picture can be considered obvious. My mind is always thinking about the many different perspectives that one picture can bring. That’s why I enjoy taking photos that captures the many mysteries of life. I would love to live life as a photographer.
The world has many photographers that anyone can look at. You can call me an amateur or say I don’t really understand the art but when I look at most of the pictures available, and I have looked at thousands lately, I don’t see anything different in the style of photography. I just see pictures. I see pictures of beautiful subjects and pictures of ugly subjects. I never really thought about the difference being the photographer instead of the subject, until I saw Elliott Erwitt.
In 1958, Irving Penn was named one of "The World’s 10 Greatest Photographers" in an international poll conducted by Popular Photography Magazine. Penn’s statement at the time is a remarkable summation of purpose and idealism: "I am a professional photographer because it is the best way I know to earn the money I require to take care of my wife and children."
Pictorialist and modernist schools of photography are two different types of photography styles, each using different ways of capturing a moment (House 1996). Pictorlism style uses a method for "making" a picture instead of basically recording it. The difference between both is that a pictorial photo seems to lack sharp focus and uses more colours rather then simple black and white colours; while modernist way of photography is a common term used to cover shifts in photography when photographers began to produce works with a sharp focus (Neff 2007). This approach abandoned the Pictorialist mode that had dominated the medium.
Street and documentary photography captures a subject or situation in a candid moment. The theme of the images can be broad. A portrait of a begging homeless child on a city street to a man walking his dog in an inner city park can remain under the umbrella of street and documentary photography as the photographer is capturing an honest reflection of that particular environment.
The traditional landscape of the 1900’s has undergone many changes over the last century. These changes can be seen in the physical environments as well as the cultural environment. Coherent relations between the physical environment and the local cultural adaption, resulting in typical patterns of settlement, roads, land use and field structures, characterize traditional landscapes, which can be recognized easily on aerial photographs (Van Eetvelde & Antrop, 2004, p. 1). Practically everyone in modern society takes pictures. We use photography in our every day life, from taking “selfies”, capturing family events, or to a job if you’re a professional photographer. Yet most to most people, there is an oversight of how cameras are controlled. Have you ever wondered what all of those numbers mean on a camera’s display? Or perhaps why someone would have a mode where you were left in charge of those strange numbers?
In times, we often see things, but we don't really capture what is beyond it. In some cases, there are people who are artistic and are prone to see what other's cannot visualize. Every individual has a talent which can be expressed and processed differently. Something you see can mean entirely divergent things to someone else;for example, some may see thing's that may seem simple, but in the eyes of an artist, it can be perceived with a whole new definition, dimension, and a potentially new discovery. As a photographer, my view of the world, can be skewed towards looking at everyday objects as potential art, but it wasn't always like that.

Photojournalism plays a critical role in the way we capture and understand the reality of a particular moment in time. As a way of documenting history, the ability to create meaning through images contributes to a transparent media through exacting the truth of a moment. By capturing the surreal world and presenting it in a narrative that is relatable to its audience, allows the image to create a fair and accurate representation of reality.
Career Issue Essay. Amateur photographers face a variety of challenges in maintaining an ethical stance toward photo subjects: lack of awareness and guidance on legal, editorial, and ethical issues; language and literacy barriers; and time and resource constraints. Whether organizations rely on program staff or professional photographers to obtain editorial photographs for educational materials, we encourage them to develop guidelines for photography and photo use. Amateur and professional photographers alike, as well as editors and publication designers, have a responsibility to consider country laws governing photography practices, editorial principles, and ethical issues in development photography.
Photography as a profession has developed along with the advancements of camera technology. Photographers can be seen everywhere, whether they are highly advanced or a just a mere amatuer. Many people find a living in this business by taking professional photographs for families, sports events, and even the traditional senior pictures.
Without a doubt, being a highly respected photographer would be my dream career. The type of job that wouldn 't feel like a job because it is one of my favorite hobbies. Growing up I always noticed how much longer I took to take a picture of someone than when they did the same for me. I soon realized that I actually had a passion for getting the right shot that I understood that not every pictures the same and that certain angles made others look better in places. The praise I received for taking a lot of these pictures motivated me. I liked that I hardly ever got told to take these pictures over and I loved that I was always the one chosen to take them time after time. Once I understood that I had this passion for photography I made sure a camera was the first thing on my Christmas list that year. I also knew that there was nothing but room for improvement, so i sought out private lessons which I worked and saved up for.
