Perth

Perth is the capital city of Western Australian. It is located in the south east land division of Western Australia. The population of Perth is 2.02 million (2014). It is counted as Australia's fastest growing city. The capital city was originally discovered by Captain James Stirling in 1829 as a member of the swan river colony. When he first arrived, with positive feedback about the natural surroundings Stirling asked for a colony to settle there. The British government agreed and therefore he founded the colony as the first flee settlement in Australia. In June 1829, the settlers began to arrive in Western Australia.

There is limited land left near Perth’s CBD, so they’ve decided to build homes further away from the city. Making it one of the most sprawling cities in the world, Since the 1950’s the development of Perth has been approached with low quality solutions.The government have plans to put infrastructure such as freeways and have access to public transport for further suburbs and encouraging people the buy further away from the city since it is more affordable, whereas those who are closer to the city with a lower will most likely end up with a smaller …show more content…

A few people respond to moving to the outskirts which promotes urban sprawl.
Normally, these outskirts have limited resources like public transport and other community facilities. Other people move out of the main city because they find it congested and unpleasant. they often move to coastal regions where they find quiet and uncrowded environment. But, as more people move to these untouched areas, it can damage natural environment and threaten preserved species.

Residential density in main cities of Australia for example Sydney, Melbourne etc. is a major issue due to the rapid growth in population. As you can see on the graph Sydney has double the population density than other cites. this shows that Sydney has as a inconsistent density pattern compared to other capital cities. In comparison, Perth has a very low Average density compared to Sydney. this is because Perth has a smaller population but larger land whilst Sydney with a larger population on a smaller scale. although is this an upcoming issue for Perth since the population is growing at a steady
