Softball is the Best Sport to play!!
“Try not to get lost in comparing yourself to others. Discover your gifts and let them shine! Softball is amazing that way as a sport. Everyone on the field has a slightly different ability that makes them perfect for their position.”- Jennie Finch. This is what makes up softball. You don’t need to be the best at the position, just show what you can do. Although there are so many sports you can play, in my opinion, softball is the best of all because you get great exercise, you can make new friends, and you can learn new things.
One reason softball is the best sport is, because you get great exercise! Running the bases, throwing, and hitting are some things you can’t do without well, staying active. Some people love to be outside and with your friends, but if you also like to be active try softball. Softball is great because mostly everyone is in on every play. Staying active is very good for your heart and metabolism and it keeps you very healthy so you can live a long happy life. It gives you great body conditioning and keeps you fit. Softball requires many skills. Not only do you need to be able to throw, catch, and hit, you need to know some drills that help you get stronger to be able to

continue doing those things. Another reason softball is the best sport, is because you can make new friends. You never know when you run into someone and they become your best friend for your whole life! You can sit in the dugout with them, cheer with them and even play or practice with them. Making friends is very important because sometimes they can keep your head up during the game if you make a physical mistake or mental mistake. It is fun when you have someone to share your feelings with before the game or play catch with. Sometimes you can even lead a cheer together and make someone else feel better about the hit they just got or the run they just scored. That helps you make new friends too!! The last reason softball is the best sport to play, is because you can learn some things like goal setting or having that good experience of being on a team.
Goal setting is important because if you didn’t have a goal, you wouldn’t get anywhere or feel good about something you did. Teamwork is important because if you can’t work as a team with anyone, if you needed help, you wouldn’t go to anyone. Softball is very good about goal setting and teamwork because that is basically the whole thing. Learning those skills will be very important for later in life when you have a job. Play softball to learn the importance of goal setting and teamwork!! Softball teaches you a lot more too but you just have to play the best sport to learn

So now that we have learned about what we actually need to play softball let's start with the positions in softball. First there is the Pitcher that is in the middle of the field in a circle called the pitcher's mound. Second there is a Catcher behind home plate. The Catcher catches passed balls and strikes. Then there's the First Baseman, the Second Baseman, and the Third Baseman. There is a Shortstop between 2nd and 3rd and a Left Fielder in the outfield between second and third. A Center Fielder which is in the outfield behind second, the Right Fielder which is in the outfield between first and second
A person that would like to play professional ball will choose baseball because there is a professional big league, such as the St. Louis Cardinals, but in softball that opportunity is not available. Baseball is played on more levels than softball. It is played on the professional, international, Olympic, college, high school, and little league levels. If a player is fortunate enough to make it to the professional level, he can make millions of dollars.
Baseball/softball was, is, and always will be one of the most popular sports of all time. Homeruns, stealing second base, and spectacular plays and catches on the playing field will continue to catch the eyes of millions of people around the globe. Today I’m going to give you a brief demonstration of how the game of baseball/softball is played.
I have been playing softball for about ten years, but prior to that I played baseball. However, the game of softball is on a whole different level. Softball plays require much more speed, and there is a greater possibility of getting injured. The game of softball is more hazardous and fast-paced than baseball.
Softball Softball, what is it for people? Most people see it as just a game, others a way of life and many others believe in something else. Even if you don’t play softball or any sport for that matter. We can all agree that when we find our passion, we find meaning in it. It can impact your life in a good or bad way.
The first reason is, softball players have less time to react to the ball while batting and fielding. Softball fields are closer and smaller than baseball fields. Baseball infields are 16,700 feet and softball infields are only 7,200 feet. This leaves softball players in the infield, outfield and the batters with less time to react to a pitch or a hit. The distance from home plate to the pitcher's mound in softball is 43 feet while in baseball it is 60 feet. Sarah Trifoso plays for the Niagra Purple Eagles
First of all, baseball players will always say that softball is the easier sport; especially when it comes to hitting. From the perspective of a softball player, I think that baseball is easier. There are longer bases, longer pitching distance, and those tiny baseballs travel a long way! One of the major differences in baseball though is the hitting style. Baseball players can afford to have a long swing because they have plenty of time to see the ball coming out of the pitcher’s hand. That’s mostly the reason you’ll see Major League Baseball players strike out when facing a softball pitcher. Olympic champion pitcher, Jennie Finch, has a fastball that takes the same amount of time to reach the plate as a 95-mph fastball from an MLB mound. Mind you, a softball pitcher’s mound is 43 feet from the plate, while a baseball pitcher’s
I have been playing softball ever since the tee ball days. It has been a sport that I have grown to love and couldn’t imagine not playing. The way I have grown up playing softball has changed tremendously from the time it was first created in 1887 on Thanksgiving Day. The first time this game was even thought of was when a group of excited men threw a boxing glove at another man who swung a broom trying to hit the boxing glove, like a bat hitting a ball. This group of men, who were all apart of the Farragut boat club, decided they would turn this into a game of their own and softball was born.
I tried out and made my highschool team. While playing on my highschool team I joined a travel team for the Brooklyn Cyclones while still playing for my church’s high school team. My passion for softball could not be taken away from me. Even when I failed, I did not give up on my dream. Giving up on my dream of being successful in softball would be equivalent to letting down my past self who was just a little girl who fell in love with softball. Playing softball was my parents way of wearing me out, but it was my way of getting away from the problems of the real world and into a world of my own. Between two white chalk lines nothing else mattered, but playing the game I fell in love with when I was only ten years old. On the field, I was able to feel pure bliss. Playing softball for seven years has not only given me joy, but it has also taught me life skills that I use from day to day. I learned to work as a team to achieve a common goal, to communicate with others better, I have learned to cherish my wins while accepting my losses and I have learned no matter what happens in life, you always have to put your heart and soul into everything you
The importance of softball in my life goes unnoticed by others, but I owe everything I am to this sport. I am an organized, cooperative woman who does not let failures affect my work ethic. Although my friends and family do not give my softball career much credit, I am confident that the lessons I’ve taken away from this sport have proficiently prepared me to step up to the plate and score a successful
Baseball is a very well known sport and often known as “America’s pastime” and softball is highly similar, but with a few key differences. Many people just assume that the sport of baseball is more difficult than softball, but don’t actually know the specific parts of each of the two. Also, if you’ve never played one or the other sport, you shouldn’t be assuming anything at all in the first place. Although many assume one may be harder than the other, baseball and softball both have particular factors which make them both complex in their own way.
I have played softball for four years, Softball has always come to me naturally. It was my third year playing when I moved to Friendswood, I was new to everything. During this year I met a girl named Shaye Brockwell. She was really nice to me and we hung out many times. Then her dad started coaching and I got on their team the next year and everything changed.
“Four bases, three strikes, two teams, one winner” (Four). Each year thousands of female athletes lace up their cleats, pull on a glove, and slide through dirt to play the sport that has become known as softball. Title IX makes it a girls right to play sports such as softball, but before chants were made up, skills perfected, and teams were formed, the game had to be invented and Title IX created. Even so, the creation of softball was actually an interesting one.
Even though softball was invented by men it has been transformed into a women’s sport. Softball is one of the most popular sport in the country and can be estimated to about 40 million Americans engage in at least softball games each year. Softball is the most interactive sport around the world. Softball is play nationwide and is very popular in the world. There are about 15% of employment growth for sports coaches between 2012 and 2022 which will add 36,200 new positions to a profession already boasting 201,800 professional.
In softball, it is common for the crowd to be loud and upbeat. The spectator’s goal is to motivate and cheer on the favorite team. Softball is known for their chants and pre-game warmups. The environment of baseball is the opposite. If you find yourself at a baseball game, you will notice it is more calm and relaxed. The pitcher’s goal is to stay calm, collected, and to handle adversity. Baseball players are known to have a superstition about the game. Never will a professional baseball player be caught stepping on foul lines, or messing with any kind of routine that has caused success in the past, where in softball they don’t see it as a big deal. The speed of the game between the two is very noticeable. In a standard softball game, the length of the innings is shorter than what people would expect in
