Dreaming is a big part of all our lives. We all dream to someday do something with our lives. For this reason many people come to America to be better off than they were in their native countries. The American dream is the hope people have coming to America. They hope to be wealthy. They hope for no more struggling. The American dream is well and alive in this day and age and will always be because people will always have the hunger to prosper. The American dream cannot be reached without hope and without hope all is lost. Wanting a better live for either themselves or their children will make people motivated for action. President Obama proves this when he said, “On this day, we gather because we have chosen hope over fear, unity of purpose over conflict and discord.” Hope is what makes dreams possible. Without it people live in fear and never do anything about it. But once hope takes part of their lives they start doing things that help themselves. They came from a small country named El Salvador. In my eyes they are a great example of the American dream. My mom came here in hope of escaping the war that tore to country apart. My father on the other hand just wanted to live a better life so he could provide for his mom back home. Once finally arriving to the great promised land know as America they were able to start their dreams. My mother’s dream was to live in peace and be able to prosper. By just arriving to America she was able to accomplish one of her dreams. She was free from the war back home. She no longer had to walk with white flags for her own protection. Now living in America she had opportunities that she would of never had back in her home. She got a job being a house and child sitter. My mother’s American dream came true. This was all thanks to keeping her hope and keeping her eyes set on her
