"I like the idea of having birth photography but I just don't know if I want it."

Is this you? Well, you’re not alone.

You know you want pictures of your new baby and to remember the highlights of the best day ever, but you also have your boundaries. Maybe it isn't because someone might see your incredible vajaay. I mean.. you probably won’t care when you're in the middle of delivery. So what could be giving you reservations?

They aren’t cheap. At least not the professionals that are actually equipped and prepared to handle dark, quiet and crowded spaces. You want to make sure you are hiring someone that understands the birth world and can handle what goes on.

The money might be best spent elsewhere like a professional doula. I always ask my clients if they have a doula. If they have thought it through and decided against it then I'll continue, but like you, if they are on the fence about it I'll tell them to get a doula first.Your birth experience needs to be something you want to remember in the first place. A professional doula will always help you prepare for that.

While a great professional birth photographer (PBP) will do everything in their power to get to know you and give you as much privacy as you need, they will still be another person in the room.

Like I mentioned above, your room will likely be dark but PBPs will use that to their advantage and will know which angles are more tasteful than others. Regardless, you are still worth having high-quality photography to hold onto and look at each new birthday. You might appreciate being reminded of the best day of your life.

-D-Day
The day you became a mom, you will think of it often but won't remember everything. A lot of times moms write down their birth story, just so they can remember what went down. Birth photography though is something that has been captured to help you visualize your journey. As much as I would have liked to remember everything from my first born's birth, I don't. It is a blur which is sad because it was one of the most exciting times in my life.
I look back at all of my son's newborn pictures and love them dearly butnothing compares to those shots I have of him when he was JUST born. (Look at this Lucy Darling Memory Book!)
