When humans look into the future, they picture the world becoming more advanced with phenomenal technology that includes faster transportation, efficient living, an enhanced ecosystem, cures for diseases, and a better life for those who have yet to be born. Eventually, the human race will get there, but some of these modifications are happening today in the modern world. One dream that people have had since automobiles were first invented is now becoming a reality. Self-driving cars, although seems alluring, are not what it appears to be. Self-driving cars rely on the computer system installed to guide them. Small devices that are used today glitch out and catch viruses, the same can happen to the computer system in the car. As self-driving cars have been sent out to different states across the US, they’ve have been used to see how well it performs on the road. On March 18 of 2018 in Arizona, one of Uber's autonomous testing states, a self-driving car struck and killed a woman who was crossing the street late at night. Although there was a back up driver behind the wheel, the car should have picked up the movement and either warned the driver or stopped the car. What helps self-driving cars work are the use of cameras, radar, and laser sensors. A computer collects the data from the sensors to `determine how fast the car should go, when to brake, and which direction to turn. Self-driving cars is not perfected to cause fewer accidents from occuring. In order for self-driving cars to be the future of transportation it must determine that the car can pick up movement and sound of an object that could be in close proximity to the car and if so the driver will be immediately alerted before an accident may
