Texas has passed a new piece of legislation that has now given the students, teachers and other officials to carry a loaded gun onto and around their college campus. The case for this gun carry legislation was that if the students, teachers and other officials were able to have these gun than maybe the issue of school shootings would almost evaporate in some areas. This no doubt sounds like one of the better arguments for guns on campus, seeing as how much of an epidemic we have with school shootings. However, congress seemed to have disregarded an issue on how this could also harm the campus more than it could help. Giving way to empowered threats, reckless engagements, and innocent losses is only some of the ways that this could be a negative thing. Allowing guns to be carried at all times around college campuses may cause a student, teacher or other official to assume that a person could be a threat and therefore firing at an unarmed person causing that individual to not only be losing their education but to be put on trial for a murder they didn’t mean to commit. Those individuals who shoot first without understanding of the situation could cause more harm to the college and their surrounds than necessary. Should be ban them? Yes, because they are terrible and they hurt people and No, because if you don’t have a way to protect yourself what is going to happen to you? Should we allow only certain people to have them? Yes, the law enforcement on your campus is there for a reason but there is a question that arises with that too. What if they get there too late? These are not as simple as people like to assume they are, there are many sides to this. Too many if you ask any regular person, but these are what the law makers have to go through. Did they take the school shooting too lightly when deciding this or did they just use enough to help elevate
