Did you know that between 3.5 and 7 billion trees are cut down each year? A group of caring citizens came together to form Greenpeace in 1971(Greenpeace). Greenpeace is a non-profit charity that has definitely changed the world and will keep changing the it until it is a better place. “Our committed activists and supporters have come together to ban commercial whaling”(Greenpeace). Some companies have factories that make plastic, clothes and shoes, but they are also making smoke which is released into the atmosphere polluting the air. Also, some large fishing vessels will leave nets in the ocean, trapping ocean life in it for days, so DONATE now. Donations should be made to Greenpeace because there is not enough education about deforestation and its effects, andt not enough rules about toxic pollution and chemical tests. …show more content…

According to Greenpeace’s website, “we have lost half of the world's forests” (Greenpeace). If all the forests are cut down, life cannot continue because it is the home to millions of species of animals and it gives resources to humans. Almost 1.6 billion people rely on forests for food and economic means (Greenpeace). Did you know that one in ten species known are found in the Amazon rain forest? Also, the trees that are being cut down are being used for things like paper and firewood which can both be exchanged for something that is cleaner and not harmful to the environment. Computers can be used instead of paper and using a computer is easier than using paper, propane or oil can be used instead of firewood to heat homes or grill steaks.
