Parents across America are working longer hours and trying to provide a better and surge future for their children, but Americans are unhappy with the K-12 education system, which we are told is the key for success. The United States has spent more on education any other develop country in the world, and education is ranked 31st and 23rd in Science and it seem that students are falling behind year after year. Yet, we are adding programs to our education system that suggested it would help our kids to more proficient in the classroom. Therefore, is this new approach on education really helping students? For centuries, generation, after generation people have learned the same way in learning about math and it seems like we have taken out the logic in math and use more of our imagination to fill in the blanks. The one language that is truly universal is not English, but Mathematics therefore why in The United States do we want to teach on kids differently? The number one country that has ranked the highest in Math and Science is Shanghai, China (Weisenthal, 2013). A country that is four times bigger than the U.S. doing much better with fewer resources. This is a flaw in our education system because senators, government officials, and companies believe that every student in the United States can learn the same way, but they are wrong. There is a famous saying all across U.S. that states “If it’s not broke, don’t fix it”. Bert Lance popularizing the phrase and explains: “That’s the trouble with government: Fixing things that aren 't broken and not fixing things that are broken”(Perlow, 2014). Many experts suggested, that the American education system does not need a new type of curriculum, but instead imitate East Asia nations like South Korea, Japan, and Hong Kong that continue to outperform others (Lepi, 2013).
