In this day and age technology is advancing at a rapid rate. We could be using it and money to our full potential with healthcare, education and creating a better world, yet one of the Governments main concerns is having better weapons. The government spend billions of pounds on research into weapons when we could be spending it on trying to improve lives, instead of destroying them. One of the latest types of weapons being developed and used are armed drones. Drones can destroy targets while being controlled by someone far away in safety. Many innocent lives have been taken by these drones and many have been Injured. The American and British government are using these in countries like Iraq and Afghanistan. America and Britain should be trying to create an image that they want freedom and rights in these countries and not constantly trying to kill people and control these countries. The U.S department of justice states that they could use drone strikes on anyone outside the U.S as long as they are a threat. This means that the America would be able to kill someone without any accountability/proper evidence. A number of people see drone attacks as an act of terrorism and say they actually create more terrorists than they kill. 16 year old Matala Yousafzai, who was shot in the head by the Taliban for speaking out in support of education for girls said that “America should stop using drones because they are fuelling terrorism. Innocent victims are killed in these acts and they lead to resentment among the Pakistani people.” Imagine a world where all the powerful countries fly drones and send army’s to countries that have not developed and to destroy their homes and towns and even innocent lives just to kill a few terrorists. In my opinion that would create more terrorists than getting rid of
