In today 's world driving plays a huge role in most everyone’s lives. People spend hours of their day in a car, logging tens of thousands of miles every year. Driving is a favored mode of transportation, a rite of passage for teenagers, a necessity for the working class, and above all a privilege. With this privilege comes responsibility, driving is a serious matter and shouldn 't be taken lightly. According to NHTSA 's Fatality Analysis Reporting System (FARS), in 2011 alone, 32,479 were killed from motor vehicle crashes in the United States, with another 2.2 million injured. Weighing in at several thousand pounds, motor vehicles are and should be considered weapons. Death can occur in many ways due to aggressive driving. Aggressive driving may aggravate other drivers on the road, and has been known to result in those other drivers injuring or killing the aggressive driver. For example, if someone is driving aggressively and cuts off another driver, that driver could catch up to him at a stop light or at his house. He then could have a weapon on him that he uses to injure or kill the aggressive driver. Another way of death due to aggressive or unsafe driving is from a crash. With the number of cars on the road, if a driver is speeding or driving in an unsafe manner it is likely that they could crash into another car or person, killing not only the driver but any passenger he or she might have in the car and anyone in the car that he or she hit. Death doesn 't only affect the driver, passenger, or people that were killed in an accident. A fatality affects the friends and family of the deceased, and the community forever. Friends and Family affected by death have lost a part of their lives forever, and can be further affected by things such as depression and suicide. A community can be affected by a fatal crash because people don 't feel as safe. They may have known the person or people who died, and if it can happen to them it can happen to anyone. Law enforcement is responding to calls of reckless, aggressive, and unsafe driving while their resources may be better allocated elsewhere. If all drivers were responsible and safe in their driving, there would be less of a need for enforcement in this area. Aggressive and unsafe driving is a cost to society. According to the National Safety Council, “the economic cost to society due to speeding-related crashes is estimated to be $40.4 billion per year—$76,865 per minute or $1,281 per second.” This cost could be greatly reduced with safer more responsible
