Truly this is exactly why there is so much hate in this world. Every single person on this earth is "damaged" and every single damaged person fails to realize that they are not alone. This world consists of large masses of bodies lashing out at everyone around them. Many lashing out of fear that their trauma will repeat itself if they don 't hold up this fierce barrier between them and the rest of the world. This tends to create these large balls of negative energy fueled by anger, pain, sadness, fear, jealousy, and ultimately... hate. Eventually that energy will come crashing down. When we act out of anger, causing another person pain... what happens? Well, most of the time that person not only lashes out in response, but they also pass it on to the next person causing this never-ending domino effect. That is where we have to break the cycle. We need to learn how to act out of love and compassion even though we are suffering and even bigger - we need to recognize when others are suffering by responding to their anger with love. By saying "Hey, what 's wrong? What can I do to help?" or even just a simple "Hey... I understand."
When someone has survived something truly traumatic, it leaves a lasting fear that they will always be hurt. Often times they only add to their own pain by lashing out at others and because of their pain being so misunderstood AND because our society is so blind to other people 's pain - they only get back what they put out... hate.
As cliché as it is - be the change that you want to see in this world. No matter how hurt you are, break the cycle. When your pain reaches the surface, allow yourself to feel it and then brush it off the best you can. If you happen to be there when someone falls short of the above - don 't react with anger. Remind yourself that it isn 't personal and that we all get there at some point and respond with love.
