Every new school year that begins teachers, parents, and student are under the pressure of being successful and every year we try something different a change to make the school better. Theres pressure because of all the rule changes and requirements. One of the changes that can make us a better school is having little homework or no homework at all. People can agree that it is way too much homework on our hands. Teachers are trying to get through lessons fast trying to show through grades and paperwork showing what we learned. There are people that say that there isnt any evidence to show us that homework helps students achieve things, too much of it can overwhelm students and cause them to disconnect from the purpose of school. Students have 6 classes and you have class assignments every day most of them are homework and most the time students have homework in every class every week and its overwhelming because theres days we have 2 to 3 things do the same day. As a result, Obviously, this is a threat to our health as a developing teenager. With so many hours spent in school and homework almost takes my whole day up and like i said before we already have other things we have in our schedule causing us to stay up later than 11 o’clock at night later than we should. With this in mind, doing this on a daily basis can affect a teenagers growth, and result in stress and losing control over their peace of mind because everyone knows that no good sleep leads to other health issues mentally, and physically and can affect easily our performance in school. Stress can cause many things including: no sleeping, low grades, fatigue, unhealthy eating habits, depression, and many more. A teen should not have to face these kind of struggles at such a young age. Most of the times in school kids knowledge are based off of kids doing their homework or not and that makes teenagers feel discouraged. Alot of times you can see that kids do good on tests than they do on their homework, so it shouldnt define how smart you are, being taught how to do something with packets and books just isn’t the same as being taught hands on by an actual human being .
