There has been a significant increase in human trafficking in the United States over the past years. Countless cases regarding human trafficking primarily consist of families who have had someone taken from them or of individuals that live alone and have gone missing. With human trafficking becoming an increasing occurrence over time, it now affects the safety of a greater number of citizens. Everyday that passes a family has been tragically stripped of a loved one with no hope of ever seeing them again because of the current inefficient methods that are in place to prevent incidents like this from occurring again. It has “surpassed the illegal sale of arms” by far and is now getting to the point where it is becoming extremely difficult to suppress (“Child Trafficking Statistics”). Anyone can become a victim of human trafficking, and unexpectedly have their freedom stolen from them in a matter of moments. Numerous people who are abducted are unfortunately women and children, and “68% of them are trapped in forced labor” (“The Facts”). Some of the trafficked women are forced into being sex slaves and are consistently abused and mistreated by the capturers who took them meanwhile the children who were kidnapped are forced into harsh labor. Human trafficking is an inhumane act that derived from the greed of despicable human beings who seek to benefit from the misery of their victims. This heinous act must be stopped at once and it requires immediate action by the government and its people. There is no valid reason to have this injustice, any further continue and threaten the peace and tranquility of innocent
