Are children your passion? Personally, I love children and babies. My passion for children developed at a very young age. Babysitting was a major for me hobby when I was younger, and still is today. I grew up being around children daily. I am the second oldest of 10 children. As I grew, I got more accustomed to the babysitting lifestyle. Babysitting is also a summer job for me. I have always been around children. The vibe I get from just being around children is uplifting. My passion strongly influenced my decision to pursue the duties of a child care facility owner. Children can be stressful, but it takes a positive attitude and patience, to deal with a child. Children are more than just infants, toddlers and preschoolers. The primary responsiblity is to run and manage that day care. The main duties are to supervise and lead staff, oversee daily activites, design curriculums, and prepare budgets. In general, they are responsible for every aspect in the center. As a child care facility owner, a variety of skills are required. The main skills required include active listening, speaking, social perceptiveness, coordination, time management and negotiation. Many people spend hundred of dollars monthly for others to care for their children, but you can care for your own children. The biggest benefit of this is experiencing their milestones and growth. Gratitude is gained heavily. Owning a day care, can help you learn to appreciate the little things in life such as health and relationships. Working with children can teach you to be patient and improve communication skills. The gratitude received by both parents and children is emotionally satisfying.The advantages vary between if the day is home or center based. A home based day care has a faster start up time. The preparation for opening usually is within a few weeks or up to a month. Home based is cheaper than center. A typical in home day care costs $1,000 less than a center ran business. Tax breaks are an advantage. The portion of items personally paid for such as rent, taxes, and utilities are deducted as business expenses. The biggest advantage is more flexibility. The owner has flexibility in determining the hours and days of operation and also the program in general. This includes the daily routine and the curriculum being taught. A center based day care has its advantages as well. The owner has the ability to provide for more children. In home, the maximum is at least 10 children depending on the state.
