Personal Statement: My Dream Job In The MLB

Bottom of the 9th, 2 strikes, tying run on 3rd the crow is cheering like crazy. Waving their rally towels with their team up 3-2. The batter shows no emotion, but you can see the sweat dripping down his face, and here comes the pitch... strike 3! The crowd goes crazy their team has just won the world series! It seems like the opposing team is crushed…… But not all is bad for the opposing team, they are getting paid millions and living the lime life. That is why it would be my dream job. If I could have any job in the world it would be an MLB player because they make lots of money, be able to travel, and be able to retire earlier than most people.

Also playing the minor leagues which I would have to do before I made it to the Majors, would allow me travel even more. The minor leagues have 240 teams, add that to the 30 Big league ball clubs and you get 270 possible cities and 2 countries to visit. If I were to play in the Big Leagues I would have many opportunities to explore interesting places outside of the USA. Every 4 years the MLB and many other professional baseball leagues from around the world come together to hold a International baseball competition featuring the best players in the world representing their respective countries, this would give me even more travel opportunities, this competition is called the World Baseball Classic. Team USA had played qualifiers in Mexico, Puetro Rico, Japan and Australia. Not everyday do people get to experience these countries. So you can see if I were to play in the MLB I would have many unique travel opportunities,but there is more to it than just money and travel. The third reason why I want to play in the MLB is because I can retire a lot earlier than most people. If I were to play in the MLB I would be able to retire and enjoy the rest of my life earlier than most people. Average MLB players retire anywhere from 37-43 ( Depending on position ) Pitchers normally earlier than most
