Personal Statement: Being A Homeless

Background Nobody likes to spend their life as homeless by their will, it happens unwillingly. At one point of my life (early child hood), I was home less including my family. Our condition got better as time goes. Now, I am proud to say that I am a proud citizen of dream land, The United States. Who would have thought a family spending their nights in the street and river bank of Nepal will come to America and live their dream life? A homeless of today can be a great personality in future if there is enough helping hands to solve the current problem, and our community people are the true examples. This thoughts and determination always pushes me forward to help children, elderly, and young adult looking for food to eat and clothes to cover their naked body. “Help those who need your help; they will make you proud later”. This is not only my mission statement but also reality of my life. Every day whether I am in a gas station or before stepping into the train there will be at least 4 to 5 people who are looking really tired and with hungry faces approaches to me begging for food and money. Their clothes, body language, face, and the way they approach to me touches my heart. Their situation remains my childhood. I always think, if UNHCR would not lend their helping hand to help me, my family, and the whole community, I would not be here in this country as a Register Nurse taking care these elderly and sick people. We will organize a community program and concerts, which will help us to spread our words as well as make some contribution to our campaign. We will also approach to several nearby churches and temples, and ask the pasture and priest to talk about our campaign and encourage people to get involve in our mission. We will post the campaign posters and our mission in our individual Facebook wallpaper and ask other supporters to do so. I will also contact community people, who have their own business and ask is they have any job opportunity. Some people become homeless when they lost the job and have difficult to find another. So, I will also put my effort to find the appropriate job through the community involvement for those who are able and eligible to
