Making the decision to go up to the King's Cabin at the private lake two hours outside of town had been a big decision. But it was a decision I had made - even after Connor had begged me not too. "You're breaking tradition." "It's not tradition. We've gone twice," I argue. "You were sick last year and freshman year I was sick!" "Connor, it's not that big of a deal. I'll still be there. Mason, Dylan, and Avery drove up in one car. Brinley, Harper, and Ethan in the second. Then me, Ashton, Leighton, and Liam in the third. Liam was helping direct Ashton since he had never actually driven there himself. "When was the last time you were even up here?" I ask, as he takes the exit off the highway right behind the rest of The Elite. "Freshman year, I guess before you moved to Arcadia. We came up here for fall break." "Did Connor come with you?" I ask, glancing over at him. He frowns, "Yeah, he did. I guess I should have thought about asking him along." I shake my head, "He'll be at his parents cabin. "Follow me." ● ◊ ● ◊ ● ◊ ● ◊ ● ◊ ● ◊ ● ◊ ● After unpacking and learning that the kitchen was fully stocked thanks to the house keeper that checked in periodically we had made a trip to the nearest liquor store to stock up for the first party of the week. Of course the rest of the afternoon had consisted of a nap for just about everybody - only I couldn't sleep. Instead I find myself wandering and happen upon Ashton as he's setting up the wet bar. "I thought you were taking a nap?" I shrug as I pick up a random bottle and glance up at him. "I haven't been sleeping a whole lot."
