“Good communication is a very important skill in cross-cultural diversity. “Language is a very complex thing, and communication between people speaking different languages is difficult. Language is a way of looking at the world, and even skilled translators can find it tricky to convey complex emotions and concepts, which can lead to misunderstandings”(Penn, n.d).
Since English is my second language, my writing is growing slowly. I took many ISL classes in Jefferson Community and Technical College to improve my English and writing. When your employees are diversified and have different ways of processing and selling ideas and products to people, they can appeal to many different backgrounds. There are a lot of pros if a company is diverse but unified at the same time. The challenge of diversity is having your managers capitalize on the mixture of genders, cultural backgrounds, ages and lifestyles so as to respond to business opportunities rapidly and creatively (Lindenberger, n.d).
Positive Diversity When hiring people of different ethnic, racial, and cultural background it comes with a challenge, but the long-term success outweighs these challenges. A good business with a diverse young talent that creates new ideas, perspectives, and different approaches will have a long-term success rate. Diversity management is an important and rapidly growing concern in many workplaces. Managers want to insure a safe environment for their employees and increase productivity, awareness, and morale. If your employees are happy, there will be more successes within the company. People respond to positive and guiding help or advice better than discrimination and down talk from a boss. The training in place for managers deals with cultural, gender, and social diversity. By enhancing the workplace and creating a team environment, companies can unleash their potential. One day we will want the Japanese men to not only treat the American woman correctly, but to also the Japanese woman as well. I believe that companies with great diversity and atmosphere will grow and create social differences in foreign countries. I think that I would do a great job as a classroom teacher.
