Ever since I can remember, in our garage there was always this thing that amazed me. It was different from all the other vehicles we had or that I had been in. It was tucked up against the far wall and was being used as almost like a shelf. Finally mid-fall last year I decided to see what I could do with it. It was my dad’s 1988 Kawasaki Ninja 600r. It's a sleek black with hints of grey and red graphics. The problem with it was that it hadn't ran in 20+ years and needed to be overhauled. I needed a hobby to do at home outside of football and this was the perfect project to keep me busy and stay away from trouble. There it was in all her finished glory. I threw a leg over it, turned the ignition on, and pushed the starter. It cranked a couple of times, but nothing. I tried again, still nothing. I tried over and over until the battery needed to be recharged. I was so upset and so perplexed as to what to do next. I wasn’t sure whether the bike was pumped too much and it was flooded, or if it was something more internal. I got a great idea then to call our family friend Alex who’s very good with motorcycles what I should do. He told me to try starter fluid, charge the battery, and to check the petcock. Starter fluid didn’t work, the battery made no difference, but, I found that the petcock wasn’t flowing fuel properly. I disassembled it and tried again. When I put it back on the gas tank the petcock started leaking fuel. I was so angry and frustrated I just wanted to take a hammer to the bike. It was one thing after another. Once I took care of the leak I tried to start the bike again and nothing. So I called my friend up and he said he would be over in a couple of
