My First Car
The struggle of buying a new car for a teenager is real. My parents didn’t want to spend a whole lot for my first car. At first, my parents searched for cheap cars that had over 100,000 miles on it. My parents also thought about how much the insurance would cost. I was going to be stuck with paying for my own gas but I didn’t care because I would be able to drive around wherever I wanted. I was already thinking about all the places I would go with my friends before I even had my car. That was the easy part, the hard part was locating a good car for the right price.
My parents had bought a sports car about two years before. They were willing to trade it in to pay for my car but they wouldn’t pay a cent more. It was hard for them to part with the sports car that they loved so much, but they wanted to buy me a car so that I would stop bugging them for rides. They were starting to get annoyed of having to take me everywhere and always needing a ride back home. My parents spent hours and days trying to find a suitable automobile for me.

“But, I barely even work, and when I do work, I barely get any hours so I don’t get paid a lot!” I shouted.
“Well you better stop spending your money on stuff you don’t need and start saving money for when you do need it”, said my mom.
“That’s not fair!” I
The day started off like any average day, I took a hot shower, got dressed and got prepared for the day. It wasn’t until I sat down and started eating my bowl full of cheerios with extra sugar, that I realized what was actually happening. Today would be the day I finally bought my first car, after a year of hard work and conservative economic decisions.
The automobile has come to play a major role in our consumer society, which has, in turn, enabled the car to become a universal experience. As America's population moved out of the cities and into the suburbs, obtaining a driver's license and purchasing that first car became a right of passage for the majority of America's youth. Today nearly every adult has a driver's license and car to drive. This helps us understand why the car is the number one choice when we need to get from place to place.

The low costs of cars allowed them to get most vehicles they desired and they were also able to get powerful engines to win street races. Once the U.S. government realized how greatly automobiles impacted the industry and economy, they approved the Interstate Highway System of 1956. This allowed more drivers to cruise the open road to travel to landmarks across the open and vast country. Automakers realized how more and more teens were buying their cars so they decided to target them with fancy styling, varieties of paint colors, and large displacement horsepower-rich V8 engines. They also made them simple to work on, thus allowing teens to pay more money on parts to upgrade their cars to fit their personality and make them
When I turned twenty-two I was excited to purchase my first car, I had been saving for 5 years in order to obtain the car of my dreams. I knew exactly what I wanted, all the “bells and whistles”, and I knew exactly what I was willing to pay and not a penny more. I thought I had a strong knowledge of the sales and pricing of the particular car I was hoping to buy, because I had done my research for weeks browsing and comparing the Sunday car ads. I was assured that my knowledge of the sales would get me a fair price and a great deal. However, my overconfidence and naivety, in the “creepy” sales tactics used by the dealership, made me unaware of the three hour nightmare that was about to ensue; leaving me brokenhearted, angry and vowing to never step foot on a car lot again.
“I want a car!” says every soon to be sixteen-year-old. Nearing the age of sixteen my time came, I asked the coveted question. “Dad can I have a car?”. As the anticipation climaxed my father uttered a calm and reassuring “No.”. The answer “No” did not cross my mind as a potential outcome. What was I to do in the midst of this rejection? I could pout and not get anywhere towards my goal, or I could suck it up, get a job, and buy my own car. The very next week I had a job and was ferociously pursuing my goal. My father had no intention on stopping me but he did warn me that if I were to reach my goal, I should possibly consider applying for a second job. I now know what he was talking about, well, at least my wallet does anyways. Car expenses
When I was fourteen I began the search for a vehicle. I want to find an older truck or muscle car to fix up and have done by the time I got my driver’s license. So every day I would search the web for what would be the best looking, easiest to work on, and cheapest vehicle I could find. I fell in love with the look of the square body Chevy short bed trucks and it was all the things I was looking for; the hunt was on for the one for me.
I should get a car from my parents. One reason, is I could put the money into college and the supplies instead of a car. A college tuition costs about $9650 at a public college while
Car-buying really starts with what you want from your car. This is the most important step of all because buying something you really don’t want could be the biggest disappointment of all. One of the best ways to figure out what you want is to sit down and think about it. Envision yourself in this car - the smell, the breeze going through your hair, or maybe, not going through your

Once you have passed your test buying a car can also prove expensive. It is often the case we have to buy cheap second hand cars as new cars are very expensive. Sometimes this is fine and you can have a reliable car, but other times you pick one up that’s not been well maintained and can cost you a fortune in repairs and keeping it on the road.
