Recommended: How culture influences development of self identity

Although life has hit me with many twists and turns on the road to success I'm still in the past thanks to family. I’m a family of three which includes my mother Eniola and my sister Bridget. My family is a big part of my life.At a very young age, my mother made sure I knew my heritage and where I come from. She taught me the languages, the traditions, etc for the last 17 years of my life. Nevertheless, the community of Oakley has always been a great place. This area is a friendly environment for anyone to enjoy. For the last couple of years, my family and I have been going to Fellowship Church. As of recently I have been ushering at the church. In the Seventh grade, I was falsely accused by the school for a note that was left in the bathroom. It was a terrible time in my life I was traumatized by this incident. The police were involved and they also came to my house to talk to my parent. After a couple of days, they found the right person that did the crime. My family and I were glad that the criminal was brought to justice.Through my high school career, I was involved with my school. I was a part of many clubs like BSU(Black Student Union), POU(Power Of Unity) and Interact. I’m also a two varsity sports athlete. The sports I play are football and volleyball. I learned many things by playing sports in high school and take ownership of what you did wrong when doing something.I learned that nothing is handed to you in life you have to work for it.Throughout high school, I didn’t know what I wanted to do in life. I knew I wanted to make the world a better place with whatever I do. After I had a contusion my knee and went to a physical therapy office that’s when I knew what I wanted to do. Being a physical therapist is a very important and demanding job for the world. We use physical therapy to recover from our injuries. After doing research I fell in love with this career.
