“Ready for take off?” Caleb yelled above the loud roaring engines of the rocket. “Yes!” we all shouted. “3,2,1” and we took off. Everything was shaking but once we passed earth’s orbit everything was calm again. “We did it,” I yelled out happily “We are going to Mars!” The entire crew of the Ares rocket started clapping. Many researchers have gone to the Mars space lab base before but this was my first time. I had been on the moon but that was pretty much it. I am a grad student from the NASA university and made the highest scores on my final exam which granted me this amazing opportunity. Mars was like a red desert that never ended but this time there was something different I looked around and there I saw it was a huge sandstorm. I started running for my life. Caleb was in front of me running even harder. He was very athletic and I was more like the nerdy kind. We what felt like forever ran and ran. Until I stumbled over a rock and fell flat on my face. Everything aches but I knew I would have to keep going to survive. I have heard of sandstorms in classes I just never thought I would actually be in one. We ran some more and more and wouldn’t dare turn around to see how close the storm was to me. It was gulping all the space. I was the scariest thing you would have ever seen in your life trust me I am now experiencing this. Not only that but I was starting to notice that from all the hard running and breathing I was slowly running out of oxygen. I now knew that I was in a critical condition I could see the base in the distance and I looked beside me and saw Caleb also struggling and I could see the fear in his eyes as well. This is the end I thought to myself the storm was getting so close
