I just got finished with hunter safety and that night I went to Meijers to get my buck tag.
My uncle said as soon as I get finished with hunter safety, he would take me hunting.
That following weekend he called me up and told me to get my stuff ready. We ended up heading out around 4:30-5:00 p.m. . We pulled up at my other Uncles private property. My uncle had told me about how many deer were on this property and how many big bucks he had seen and shot over the years. I have to admit I was getting pretty pumped up and excited. I was so confident I was going to get a decent buck! We hopped out of the car and walk towards the back of the car to grab our crossbows. He popped the trunk and I grab my crossbow out of its case and sling it over my shoulder. We started walking into the woods to the blind and my uncle stops me.
“Javonnie, are you ready to get one?” he says.

We finally get there after the long walk. We stepped inside the blind. Not even 15 minutes into waiting we hear something coming up from behind us. It was coming fast. It was this monster 8 point buck! My heart was beating so fast and my knee was shaking. It came right up next to us at least 10 feet to my left but some branches were partially covering him up so I couldn’t get a good shot at him. I accidentally moved and the buck turned his head and I thought he spotted us. He was staring at us for like 10 minutes straight. He came a little closer and walked forward into a better spot where I could get a shot. I pulled up my cross bow to my shoulder and he ran. I was so disappointed! I honestly felt like I was going to
