Recommended: Why giving back to community is important

People have different views on the world. You can be liberal or conservative. If your liberal doesn't mean you’re better than a conservative. We just all have our different inputs in the world. We were all raised differently and grew up with different beliefs. Everyone has a different mindset of the world and my mind works as a liberal. I think i am a liberal because i think the government shouldn’t control everything, they should still be involved but not in every little idea in our minds. I believe that the government has good intentions but bad results. For example the Homeland security only check people who look like a terrorist. One of the biggest ones is the Same-Sex-Marriage. That is something that i’ve grown up with. People have came up to me and started talking about their lives and how they are either bisexual or gay. They feel comfortable to talk to me about it. Just the fact that people make fun of others because the way they feel is unfair. You should never judge someone until you walk in their shoes. People think that being gay is a choice. That is like saying being born a girl or boy was a choice. You can’t choose the way you feel about a person. It shouldn’t be looked down upon because that’s what it says in the bible. I believe the bible was made by a crazy guy who wanted attention or it's almost like a myth book. You can believe anything you want to, but don’t put others down who don't have the same viewings and beliefs you do. My highest priority as a citizen is to have a successful career and give back to charities. I want to give back to the people who started at nothing and help them grow to make a name for themselves because i had that for myself. Most liberals believe that the government is detrimental to liberalism’s beliefs because it does not allow everyone to be an individual since laws are in place to limit freedom. John Locke advocated this when he attacked the government saying ‘no government allows absolute liberty”. This is true because if no laws were in place then absolute liberty would soon be replaced by anarchy. Liberalism not only influenced equality but it was the basic idea behind the United States of America constitution. This was easy for the American governments to adopt because unlike other countries, it did not have to contend with aristocratic traditions and institutions.
