Crack! The ball soared off the bat with indescribable speed. It gradually increased its height until finally, it reached the fence. The crowd nervously waiting for this could change the outcome of the game. As the umpire rotates his index in a circular rotation immediately, I know I have accomplished my goal. I run the bases with a feeling of pride and accomplishment rising up. When I reached the dugout I was overwhelmed by the number of teammates pouring onto me as I lay there on the ground. Everyone was going wild! My confidence, flourished as my family congratulates me. The feelings of pride and amazement in realizing what I was capable of. After that day, I was determined to become better so that I would be able to recreate that pride. I began to develop a mindset. A mindset that will stay with me for life, the knowledge that I can do anything! I never stopped working. I was always the smallest player on my teams but did I let that stop me? No! I worked and I pushed because this is what I wanted to do. This was who I wanted to be! So I trained day and night, working out, practicing my swing, strengthening my arm. The name of it is Work Hard, Play Hard. This song is a great example of the motivation I developed after the home run. I had this strive to never give up and to never quit no matter the circumstance. This has shaped me today because now I never give in to anything. If I do not succeed I do not get upset and pout. I work hard so that when I get into situations where I need to call on the skills I have been working on, my success will be recognized. This moment taught me what it feels like to succeed but the feeling slips away quickly, no matter how hard you try to hold on to it. It leaves you with a desire for more. That is my motivation. I want nothing more that to succeed. You may think that this would make failure hard for me but you are way off the mark. Failure is nothing more than in obstacle in the obstacle course of life.
